Details of wind damage [Newby Park]; pretty Thorn lost near Cockshut Gate, Great Oak looking more deformed than ever, particularly bad from Lady Grantham's south window. Final orders for its removal from Grantham to Mickle. Staffordshire ware; box contained four fruit Baskets. Chico died a natural death, could not agree to him being shot. Saw Mrs. Waddilove's child, drank tea at Mrs. Hutchinson's. Hopes to be with Grantham tomorrow sennight. Supposes report about Sir J. Pennyman not true as it was heard from Mrs. Worsley. Mr. Browne expected. Tom squeals & the Infanta innominate squalls. Compliments to Grantham.
