To Petersham after ceremony. Disapproves of Spanish fashion of making young bride step from her bed into a crowded Levée, however, there is an indecent excess of delicacy in England on this. M. Ramel proving a reasonable companion to Grantham, agreeable society to form when Masin returns. Mr. Massingey, Madame Condon's nephew is lively & polite. Visits between Navy Captains & the Consul in Lisbon; unsettled etiquette. Accounts for Conway's Walpolism. Tommy Townshend gave Lord Chatham a dinner, probable Chatham's father recommended T.T. to him. May be interested in Miss Mary Townshend.
