    Dined at Mr. Parker's, played Whist. No Opera due to Christening of Prince Octavius. Dined at Lord Ossory's with Richard, Sir Joshua, Mr. Gibbon and George Barker. Impossible to tell from the Ossory's behaviour towards each other whether there is a problem. Their eldest daughter, Lady Anne, very pretty. Lord Holland a fine boy. Francois is well. Played Whist. Thence to Almodobars. Few people due to Mrs. J. Pitt's Ball. Visited Mrs. Milbanke. Mr. Parker's cook, La Cour, arrested for debt. Nanny helping for time being. New Opera, music good, scenes & decorations fine. Duke of Dorset thinks Baccelli charming & handsome. Almodobars there, reported death of Madame Cruillas. Swinburne's book popular. Fritz's opinion of Mr. Moore, the Scotch physician's view of society & manners in France, Switzerland & Germany. Travelled with Duke of Hamilton. Duke & Duchess of Hamilton seem to be reconciled.
