    Dined at Sir Joshua's with his two nieces, the Miss Palmers, Nanny, Mr. Parker, Sir Charles Davers, Mr. Elliott. When asked who she prefers of the Miss Palmers the little girl says "I like them both together". Mr. Elliott tends to be in low spirits etc... Dined at Mr. Parker’s, and at the Almodobar’s in the evening. Madame Almodobar not there, unwell. Almodobar had dined day before at Lord North's. Told Escarano he could direct a case of books to Grantham, destined for Bilbao. Don M. Ottamende will speak to Grantham on subject. Dined at the St. Albans Tavern to meet old & new Stewards of the Westminster Anniversary, the company should have been 18 but was only four for various reasons, Parliament etc...; Dr. Smith, Dr. Vincent, Mr. Colman. Assembly at Mrs. Weddell’s. Lady Fitzwilliam seemed with child. Lady Robinson says that Dr. Hardis wants to finish the business of Strensall. Sorry that negotiation about coach at an end. Reports of the Puerta del Sol are that Lord Sandwich is to have the Garter. Lord Stormont or Lord Carlisle is to be Secretary of State. Lord Harrington very ill, his death may hasten Lord Petersham's match with Miss Fleming. Ned Foley is married to Lady Anne Coventry, strange match, her behaviour before marriage "not likely to procure a husband".
