- fire at rubbish tip at Mill Lane, Aspley Guise during which a drum of deadly chemicals was found; identified by chemists Anthony Hilldon and Peter Proctor on land owned by Gertie Barnwell*;
- partially named group of Bedford Fire Brigade personnel involved in winning a cup for water pump drill, 1938*; firemen named are Harry Swannell, Harrison, Barrett, Flannigan, Roach, Daniels, Monk, Martin, Shaw, Fensome, Draper, Morris, Nutting, T, Hyde, Mears, Wooding and Saunders;
- failure of Beds hotels to seek fire certificates;
- adoption of foam for fire fighting by Beds FS*;
- a group of children, led by Robert Atkins and Danny Reddick, of Houghton Regis Fire Club who set out to warn FS of fires and put small ones out*;
- restoration of 1935 Dennis Fire Engine (reg.no. MJ 8870 ex Bedford and Luton brigades) by Henlow scrap dealer, Anthony Rogers*;

- rescue of fireman’s son, Christopher Rann, from tree by FS, when his father Alwyn Rann, was unable to assist. He had been alerted by his daughter Judith Rann!*;
- promotion of CFO Richards to be HMI with special responsibility for training*;
- two, largely unnamed, photographs, one of estate workers at Wrest Park, Silsoe, the other of Wrest Park Estate Fire Brigade with their engine, both 1904*;
