Dined at Stratton St., involved most of evening in administration of Marriage Settlement of Lady Middleton. At Court, very full, King out for first time after cold. Enquired after Grantham's health. Spanish Embassador there; has got the three suits of Vicuna at his house. M. de las Rosas also with him. M. Almodobar not seen, they have not yet opened their house. Visited Aislabies, dined with Pelhams, went to see good modern comedy `School for Scandal' with Tom. Did not see Camp as he supped at Batt's with Burton Macdonald & Stenman. Dispatches by Heslop arrived. Thinks Grantham has done all that can be done. Comments cryptically on their private affairs. Still room for improvement in Grantham's health. Heslop just arrived, crushed big toe on leaving ship at Falmouth. Waiting for instructions regarding distribution of Waddilove's packets. Draper has his Bran. Lord Middleton & Fanny married this morning at Stratton St. by Mr. Courtail. Lady Pelham attends them to Pepper Harrow. Both families meet at Stanmer at Christmas.
