  • Scope and Content
Happy at assurances that health improves, but still concerned that a persistent ague may prevail. Thinks walks to Cowhouse at St. Ildephonso in cooler evenings may have been cause of fever, hopes it wasn't anxiety of mind etc. Would like more details in future letters. Discussion whether circumstances right to ask Lord [Weymouth] to return home. Weather rainy & windy unfortunately for Officers & men in camp. Thinks this will be Mr. Parker's last campaign. Discussion of news of a match from Stanmer, a matter of free choice on both sides...[Fanny Pelham & Lord Middleton ?]. Today's activities, rode, hare coursed, played Picquet etc... Never feels or enjoys any comfort without an Oxala. Peace much talked of in London according to newspapers.
