    Update on letters received. Relates what he has heard of Shadwell's riding accident. Two accounts, from Draper and Tom Pelham. Currently lying very ill at the Greyhound at Croydon. Sherry for Mr. Anscott and Mr. Parker. Dined at Colonel Coxe's tent with Colonel Ogilvie, Parker, Lord Corke, Sir William Leman & Captain Chapeau. Believes the latter to have lived at Rippon [sic], has just quitted 13th Regiment of Cornwall Militia. Reminiscent of Roger Wilbraham. Mr. Lloyd, Colonel Ogilvie and Duke of Portland dined. His Grace, Parker and the little boy went for drive in the little Phaeton & duns. Snuff for the Dukes of Portland and Buccleugh. Glad Munro is pleased with his tooth pick case. Jack Osborn will not be travelling in Spain.
