    Regarding Shadwell's application via Fritz to Lord Weymouth [L30/14/333/118*] for a position in the Army; letter of explanation from Fritz enclosing copies of three letters, one from Thomas Shadwell, two from Fritz; one to Shadwell and one to his father. Mr. Chamier has instructed Shadwell to set off for Madrid as soon as possible despite there being no prospect of a successful application to Lord Barrington via Lord Weymouth. Fritz's deep concern for, and advice against, Shadwell returning to Spain. [see also L30/14/333/127 & 129].
