  • Scope and Content
Has sent note to Mr. Dieden by Peggy who is going to see the King of Denmark dine, not content with seeing him land at Whitehall stairs on return from Greenwich. Therese's package missed the fly but will arrive by Monday, she "need not be afraid of being the only Patmos as Miss Stainforth intends exhibiting in the habit d'une jeune Demoiselle de l'isle St. Jean a Patmos" [at Masquerade]. Nanny's dress consigned to Mrs. Briscoe. Thomas Robinson's dress has not come from Holbeck, to be sent to Whitehall. Found parcel in Thomas Robinson's room containing shawl from Captain Fousty. Moffatt has Chinese dress for Lord Elgin which Fritz can use if Elgin doesn't. Has stuff enough to make a Moorish dress otherwise. Asks for gabardine from Sussex in case all else fails. Saw Tom at Westminster yesterday. Father disappointed that Pelhams may not come up "he is more uneasy...than usual but I do not imagine really worse" perhaps down to son's absence.
