- Date free text8 Jun 1766
- Production dateFrom: 1766 To: 1766
- Scope and ContentWill be glad to see him and will lodge him as well as he can. Went yesterday with Mr. Lort [?] to see houses of Lord Thomond and Sir John Griffin. Former very pretty, latter exceedingly fine. Only saw ground floor of Sir John's through windows as he is in residence, "very judiciously kept up the old taste in his alterations on the outside of the house...if you could get to see it...don't doubt but it will answer to you". The Master does not seem to intend to ask the Chancellor to dine at Trinity. Pedestal for late King's statue is handsome but not plain enough. Inscription good, letters shamefully cut. Assumes "the Misses will give account of the birthday". Will write to Therese when written to Nanny. P.S. Details of and comments on T. Robinson's `schemes' for the Vacation etc... Important for Therese to have opportunity for sea bathing again, great benefit derived from last years. Suggestion of sisters going to Studley with Aislabies and then to Scarborough etc...
