Admin/biog history
The series consists of sales handled by Peacocks and other auctioneers. The company collected the particulars of sales by other auctioneers to help them keep up with hammer prices and therefore inform their future valuations.
Archival history
This selection of sale particulars was originally collected by Peacocks. At some point prior to the transfer of the bulk of Peacock's records to the archive service many of the particulars were removed by Mr Lazenby who later used it when writing a history of the company. After Mr Lazenby's death in 2015 the material was gifted to the archive service on the understanding that it could be amalgamated with the rest of the PK collection. 11 documents were from the original Peacock's deposit made in 1972, the rest are those received from the estate of the late Mr Keith Lazenby, former partner in the firm.
