Translation: Dear Sir, When I was in Cadiz I sent by hand to the firm Duff and Welsh two little barrels of dry wine from these islands. Now another two, one sweet and one dry, are being forwarded which, if they are to Your Excellency’s liking, I shall have singular pleasure in supplying whichever Your Excellency would like. I express to Your Excellency due thanks for the favours you have been good enough to show me, and I hope to have opportunities to give you proof of my gratitude. Received 23 September 1777.
