  • Scope and Content
Grantham mentioned some time ago that he might be called upon to pay a sum of money in England, which Joyes agreed to supply him. The sum is £1600, of which £500 will be immediately discharged by the draft at the end of the month, so Grantham will remain their debtor for £1100, which he will discharge as soon as he can. Asks Joyes to send him a bill or bills on their correspondant or any house in London, payable to the Rt. Hon. Lord Robert Spencer. If necessary, he is willing to sign the same bond as on former occasions, or if not, he can acknowledge the borrowing of this sum by letter, or by any other method they may desire. Is anxious that his business should be managed to Joyes' convenience. Marked "Separate": Desires Joyes to pay M. Cervantes when he calls for it the sum of 74 Reals. Will in a few days acquaint Joyes with the cash which he will want.
