- Scope and ContentCarlisle is in Town for the winter, and hopes to report any amusing incidents to Grantham. Duke of Marlborough is talked of for Ireland. Carlisle stayed with Ste on his way back from his sisters - he is reported to have made brief additions to his house, his belly and to Lady Mary's. Boothby was given over with a putrid fever, but is now out of danger. Carlisle endeavours to keep up the Tuesday night club. Burglaries at houses - Lord Ilchester has had all his plate stolen. Attendances at Court; gambling earnings - Captain Pigot and Lord Robert were great sufferers. Lord Northington is dead, "but disliked dying very much and cursed and swore till his last moment." Thanks Grantham for his letter from Madrid. Anticipates a quiet session, as the Duke of Bedford moved the address, there being no opposition to it.
