  • Admin/biog history
The Wyatt family had Bedford connections. In 1889 Reverend Wayatt built Austin Canons, a large ouse on the Kempston Road, and there is a Wyatt mausoleum in the cemetery of St Peter's Bedford. The Reverend Wayt was cahplain to the Queen's Chapel of the Savoy. From documents within the collection it seems that the Reverend Wyatt undertook research to establish the Wyatt Pedigree.
  • Archival history
The majority of the collection was deposited in May 1978. Some of this material was subsequently withdrawn. In 2010 John Herbey Wyatt of Charlton Kings Gloucestershire, son of Raymond Benedict Hervey Waytt and grandson of Rev. Paul Williams Wyatt died. John's wife Joan died in 2013. They had no issue. Her executors identified a number of items of interest from her estate connected with the Wyatt family in Bedford and deposit of these items was arranged in early 2014. Three of the items then deposited were items that had originally been deposited in 1978 and later withdrawn. These items were replaced in the collection under their existing numbers. The rest of the 2014 deposit was added to the end of the existing collection.
