- Scope and Contenti) General O'Reilly is recommended Mr Pelham, already given "the powerfull recommendation of M Grimaldi", and whose "Qualities and Address will ... prove how well founded my Friendship and Affection for him are, which began in the near relationship which we bear to each other...". He is Lord Pelham's son, and after almost a year in Madrid intends to visit Italy in early 1777, touring Spain on the way. ii) General O'Reilly is introduced to Mr Waddilove, who will be touring the southern part of Spain with Mr Pelham. iii) Mr Hardy at Cadiz is introduced to Mr Pelham, who is furnished with letters from Count Prasca. iv) Mr Waddilove recommended to Mr Hardy v) Mr Pelham recommended to Governor Boyd, as having "the easiest and most unaffected manners, and the most engaging vivacity and the most prudent conversation". "I give him a line to Baird, who will probably show him the Videnda of Gibraltar". vi) Mr Waddilove recommended to Governor Boyd as an old acquaintance of Grantham.
