Thanks for intercession with "our Inspector Count Ô Rielly of which my uncle Mr Robert Abercromby from Scotland has advised me". Being one of the first Ensigns of this Regiment de Irlanda, cannot "Miss a Lieutenancy soon", which Jointly with Captaincy for any part of Mexico "would be the sum of my Wishes and sole ambition, as an old infirm father and a tender sister mutualy long for".
