Leila (b 1901 Houghton Conquest, Bedfordshire) is shown sitting at a table and resting her arms on it and is visible only from the waist up against the dark background. On the inside of the front cover, "Leila Muriel Wilhelmina Smith 20/21" has been written in pencil. Both the backing board and the outside cover have the name of the photographic studio printed on them.
