Concerned at alarming accident [fire]; dangerous for Lord Polwarth to move. I fetched home my purple satin from Mr King's and have sent it to be made, also settled with Mrs Beauvais not to over-trim it, and to put a flounce with silver on it, a silver fringe at bottom, and some silver festooning at top; she has persuaded me to have some fur mixed with the flounce and festoon; pinned for me to see on Monday, so if Mama does not like the fur it may be left out. Said nothing about caps; none ready made. American news. Pray tell Mama I set to Romney tomorrow with my hair out of powder. Mrs Francis goes on fast with my fan.
