They are in a 'taking'. Asks that the case against her may be got from Sheridan. The Prince in refusing the letter without knowing the contents makes it clear he has nothing to say. Miss Knight, an excellent person, is sub-governess. The restrictions on correspondence is severe. The Chancellor states he would lock up his daughter in like circumstances. The Princess furious & called him a fool. Duke of York & Prince at daggers drawn over military appointments. Quarrel to be referred to the Chancellor (Eldon).
