- Scope and ContentRadcliffe's foxhounds have only been once since ladyship's letter of leave; and he, finding them not quite broke of hunting hares, said to Thomas Hill he would not come any more until they were quite broke and staunch to foxes. When last at Harrold mentioned to Alston improper conduct of 3 sons and gamekeeper and butler so frequently shooting on Harrold manor and woods; said in his absence and seemed hardly to believe; said would prevent in future, but I find they have been there many times in last 6 weeks. 6d per week till now paid to Thomas Nottingham, lately dead, now given to Wheatley's girl. Mud in canals. Have continued to pay labourers 9s week; the farmers pay 8s week and beer and milk; all workmen complain that beer is 2½d pint.
