- Scope and Contenti) Alice Turney, late of Souldrop, now of Husborne Crawley, widow ii) Charles Turney of Stevington, farmer recites X547/71 Will of Thomas Eden, dated 2 Jul 1873, appointing Edward Turney and William Mole, both of whom died in lifetime of testator, as executors, and devised to them: - messuage in Souldrop, with 5 closes land containing 30 acres - 2 cottages in Souldrop, occupied by George Brown and Charles Woods Thomas Eden also made 3 codicils, dated 28 March 1875, 4 Sep 1875 and 17 Dec 1875, and by codicil dated 17 Dec 1875 appointed i) as sole executrix and charged her to pay out £400 to certain persons mentioned in the will Thomas Eden died 12 Jan 1877, will and codicils proved at Northampton 27 Jan 1877 Said sum of £400 paid out to inheritors X547/73 Now due on mortgage £1070, being £800 principal and £270 interest i) also in possession of close as described in X547/74 i) has agreed all said property to ii) hereby freeing estate of Thomas Eden from sum owing on mortgage of £1070, and ii) has agreed to pay i) an extra £500 in addition to £1070 now: consideration: £500 by ii) to i) and release of i) by ii) of owing £1070 i) conveys to ii):- - cottage etc in Souldrop, once in occupation William Moreton, then Thomas Eden, now widow Rawlins : East certain lane : North and West highway - 3 closes pasture in Souldrop, once called Lives Close and occupied as above, now known as Big Pightle, Baileys and Coles Corner - 2 closes, 1 being pasture, the other arable, containing 26 acres 2 roods 6 perches, being that allotted on enclosure to James Catesby and his wife Mary, once occupied by Thomas Eden, then widow Rawlins : East 'The Greenway' : South (part) Coles Corner : All other parts Duke of Bedford - 2 cottages in occupations of George Woods and Charles Headlands, once of George Brown and Charles Woods - close pasture called Lives Close, containing 1 acre, once in occupation of Thomas Eden, then i), now widow Rawlins : South and West Duke of Bedford : North and East close and ground as above (Big Pightle etc) signature : i), ii) witnesses: William Lewin, solicitor, Wellingborough John Dumcombe, farmer, Flitwick
