3 days in London. Confusion of Mrs Beauvais' band-boxes (2 gauze assortments - en paysanne at en laitiere) and the bore of her genteel nightcaps etc. which you may remember on a like occasion. Perhaps another fortnight. Lord Grantham's house filled with workmen; chair and coach not yet ready. Thinks of borrowing Mr Aislabie's (relation) pretty place at Hendon to go to immediately, and stay till packed and ready to set out for Yorkshire, where reside remainder of summer; their 1st stage would be to us. Polwarth. Weather. War.
