Parties:
(i) Elizabeth Hockliffe of The Dale Cottage, Pavenham, widow; Ernest Hockliffe of Barrow Court Farm, Tickenham [Somerset], professor of literature (retired) and William Llewelyn Jones of Bedford, solicitor;
(ii) Maurice Frederic Rich Hockliffe of bedford
Operative Parts, inter alia:
- (i) would employ (ii) as manager of the business carried on at 86 and 88 High Street and 8 Lime Street, Bedford;
- (ii) could not appoint or dismiss a chief financial clerk without the permission of (i) or any other assistants without consultation with Elizabeth Hockliffe who was acting employer;
- proper accounts were to be kept (details of accounting procedure given);
- (ii)'s salary would be £5 every Saturday and an additional £20 each fourth Saturday (£520 per annum);
- (ii) was to receive one month's holiday per annum

Indorsed: "This Agreement was determined as from 1 Oct 1933 and a new agreement was entered into under date 6 Nov 1933 between the same parties"
