    – A butt or rod, an acre adjoining & 5 butts containing 1 acre in Leighton Buzzard. Place names: Middle Field, Clipson Way; Shenley Hill Field, Lords Hedge, Little Hunts Way. Bounding owners: late Gabriel Horwood, late Whitney, John Franklin, late Samuel Manning esq., late Woodmans. [William Cotching was admitted, 1805, on surrender of John Newman & wife Barbara.]. - Also 1½ acre meadow in Kings Mead between land late of John Ashwell, then Mrs Ashwell, and that late of Mrs Flemons, widow; then in occupancy of Abraham Mann. [Admitted 1818, on surrender of John Gurney & wife Sarah.] - Also 1acre arable in Shenley Hill Field, at Lords Hedge between the land late of Widow Hall & then of William Birley, & the highway, then in occupancy of William Birley (formerly estate of Robert Bill). [Admitted 1818, on surrender of Juliana Franklin, widow]. - Also Markhams Mead containing 2¼ acres by the side of the river; late in occupancy of said Robert Cotching; & a piece of meadow lying next the Overshot, between the Shire Brook & the river in Leighton Buzzard; then in occupancy of John Cox. [Admitted 1823, as devisee of his father Robert Cox. - And also part of a pightle containing 1 rood, behind the messuages & malting lately conveyed by James Purton Hobbs & wife Catherine to said William Cotching, situated in the Church End of Leighton Buzzard near to Friday Lane; late in occupancy of Oliver Taylor, then Martha Taylor, then Samuel Hopkins, butcher and then said William Cotching. [Surrendered by said James Purton Hobbs & wife Catherine, 1830, but William Cotching was not admitted]. Recites Will of William Cotching dated 7 December 1830, devising his property in Leighton Buzzard & Linslade, to sons William & Robert Cotching & friend Charles Pettit of Leighton Buzzard, lace-merchant.
