    Appoints sons Alan Millington Edwards and Oliver Herbert Edwards and daughter Lucy Ashton Hutchinson as executors and trustees. Bequeaths: - to son Alan Millington Edwards his writing-desk, chair, bicycle, Chamber's Book of Days, all books relating to Law and Taxation, and various bookcases - to wife Margaret the bookcase in his study - to daughter Margaret his Chippendale bookcase - to son Oliver Herbert Edwards the bookshelves in his garage and study - to son Alan Millington Edwards any stamps he chooses from his stamp albums, to be selected within 3 months - to wife Margaret his Owen's School Bible, his stamp albums and stamps not selected by his son - to Florence Stephenson of Royston (Yorks) books listed in Schedule A - all books not previously disposed of to be offered in turn to his daughters Margaret Green, Lucy Ashton Hutchinson and Helen Gurney Green, his wife Margaret, and his son Oliver Herbert Edwards. Any not taken to be given to son Alan Millington Edwards - expense of conveying books and furniture to be borne by his estate - to first of his 3 grandchildren Barbara, Penelope and David to attain age 21 his gold wrist watch and foreign coins - to daughter Lucy Ashton Hutchinson the portrait in oils of his father, or to his son Oliver Herbert Edwards if she should predecease him - to daughter Margaret Green furniture and effects listed in Schedule B - to wife Margaret furniture and effects listed in Schedule C - to daughter Helena Gurney Green furniture and effects listed in Schedule D - to daughter Lucy Ashton Hutchinson all other personal, domestic and household effects not otherwise disposed of Devises: - freehold property at 31 Lakeview, Edgware to trustees, with wife Margaret allowed to reside there rent free for two years, and thereafter in trust for son Alan Millington Edwards, and following his death to his daughter Lucy Ashton Hutchinson absolutely - freehold property at 54 , Ulsterville Avenue, Belfast, to trustees in trust for daughter Margaret Green for life and after her death to son Oliver Herbert Edwards absolutely Gives: - £100 to daughter Lucy Ashton Hutchinson - £100 to daughter Helena Gurney Green - £100 to son Alan Millington Edwards - £100 to son Oliver Herbert Edwards - £100 to Florence Stephenson - policy on his life for £50 with Civil Service Provident Society to trustees, with balance after payment of funeral and testamentary expenses to go to son Alan Millington Edwards - "widower's bonus" paybaly by Civil Service Widows and Orphans Fund to son Oliver Herbert Edwards - £500 life policy with North British and Merchantile Insurance Company to his wife Margaret, or if she predeceases him in equal shares to surviving children - £300 life policy with Atlas Assurance Company in equal shares to surviving children - a second £500 life policy with North British and Merchantile Insurance Office in equal shares to son Alan and testator's grandchildren, or if none of his grandchildren survive in equal shares to his surviving children - £200 policy with Atlas Assurance Company to be paid by trustees to daughter Margaret Green at their discretion, with any balance at her death to be divided between his other surviving children - £200 life policy with North British and Mercantile Insurance Office to be divided equally betwen sons Oliver Herbert Edwards and Alan Millington Edwards and daughter Helena Gurney Green, and if Alan or Helena predecease him their share(s) to be divided between Oliver Herbert Edwards and Lucy Ashton Hutchinson Directs: - any debts due to him or any child of his from son Oliver Herbert Edwards or from Florence Stephenson to be deducted from anything to which they are entitled under his will Devises and bequeaths residuary estate (to be converted to cash by trustees): - 50% to wife Margaret (to be divided between his children if she predeceases him or dies within 3 months) - 50% to grandchildren 1st Codicil dated 3 June 1950 - revokes direction in will on disposal of 31 Lakeview after expiry of 2 years residence for his wife Margaret, and replaces it with provision that it is to be held in trust for daughter Helena Gurney Green in fee simple. If Helena has a living husband at testator's death then property to be held in trust for her daughter's Barbara Helen Elizabeth Green and Penelope Ashton Green in equal shares Bequeaths: - £100 to friend Edith Wilson of South Sunderland (Durham) - £100 to Herbert Johnson of Leytonstone (Essex) - £50 to friend Millicent Surr of Blackpool (Lancs) - £50 to friend Hilda Goodchild of Reigate (Surrey) and £25 each to her three daughters Joy, Dawn and Oenone - £50 to friend Mary Hinnell of Bury (Lancs) - revokes direction regarding disposal of residue of his books, which are to be offered as a gift in turn to his daughters Margaret Green, Lucy Ashton Hutchinson, and Helena Gurney Green, his wife Margaret, his sons Olivert Herbert and Alan Millington Edwards, and his friends Edith Wilson and Mary Hinnell in that order. Any not taken to be given to Andrew Jackson Ellis of Mansfield (Notts) 2nd Codicil dated 4 June 1952 - revokes legacy of books left to Florence (nee Stephenson) and bequeathes them to his grandson David Hutchinson.
