Colonel Nightingall, private secretary to Sir George Barlow, has written a recommendation for an East India Company pension as Senior Merchant out of employ. Mentions Fitzroy's two sons now in England, & his daughter in the charge of Major Loveday. "She is said to be very like you and it seems melancholy that the poor thing should be brought up like a native in a zenana - they seem to wish to be freed from the charge of her. Can you suggest anything for the poor girl".
