    (I) Indenture dated 26th July 1901 Parties: (i) William Anstee of The Tythe, Chalton, farmer (ii) John Cumberland of Luton, estate agent (iii) Walter Thomas Lye of Leagrave Hall, Luton, straw plait bleacher and dyer Reciting: - mortgages and transfers of mortgage as listed in Schedule I by which property (a) was vested in (i) as security for principal sum of £3000 with interest at 4% p.a. Operative part: - sale by (ii), who was seised of (a) subject to the mortgage to (i), to (iii) for £257, free from the mortgage debt of £3000 - payment by (iii) to (i) of £257 in part payment of the mortgage debt - (a) conveyed by (i) as mortgagee and by (ii) to (iii) Property: (a) 2a 2r 36p of land in Leagrave abutting on the High Road bounded: NW partly by land lately sold by (ii) to John Sanders and partly by land of Francis Allingham; SW by land of Messrs Squires and Hull; SE partly by land used as a pond and partly by High Road with a frontage of 370ft; NE land lately sold by (ii) to John Sanders, as shown in attached plan. Subject to right of Francis Allingham, William Squires and Charles Hull and their heirs to use cartway from High Road to their adjoining land on SW boundary of the plot, and to right of owners and occupiers of Leagrave Hall and the adjoining Farm Homestead to drain into the cesspool formed in or near the cartway. Habendum: - to the use of (iii) in fee simple freed and discharged from all claims under the indentures of mortgage and transfer of mortgage Covenant: - (iii) and (ii) will erect a two railed pale fence next to the right of way on the SE of (a) within 3 months and will maintain it thereafter - (ii) to produce documents as listed in Schedule II to (iii) Schedule I: - indenture of mortgage dated 2 March 1871 between (1) John Kinder and (2) John Filmer Anstey and Henry Lucas Bean - indenture of mortgage dated 2 May 1871 between (i) John Kinder and (2) William Anstee - indenture of transfer of mortgage dated 20 April 1875 between (1) Rev John Filmer Anstey aand henry Lucas Bean and (2) Rt. With right of way for (ii) over cartway on SW side of plot.
