    Parties: (i) Mary Sclater of Potton, widow; (ii) John Carrington (grandson of Elizabeth Carrington) Reciting: (1) Will of John Carrington, late of Potton, blacksmith, dated 4 March 1734 devising property (a) to his wife Elizabeth Carrington for life or until her marriage, and following her death or marriage to his son John Carrington and his heirs, subject to a charge of £40 as specified in the will; also bequeathed to his daughter Mary, then wife of Berry Sclater of Potton, 40s p.a. to be paid to her by his son John Carrington directly into her hands "that her husband might not intermeddle therewith"; should Mary Sclater survive her husband the testator's son John Carrington was to pay her £40 following which the 40s p.a. annuity was to cease; should Berry Sclater survive his wife then testator's son John Carrington was to pay the sum of £40 to the children of Berry and Mary Sclater on the day the youngest child should come of age in equal shares; (2) Surrender to use of a will by John Carrington (Z1578/POT/2/5); (3) Death of John Carrington, son of John Carrington during the lifetime of his mother Elizabeth Carrington, leaving his only son John Carrington as his heir; (4) Death of Elizabeth Carrington; (5) Admission of John Carrington (grandson of Elizabeth) to property as detailed in (1) (Z1578/POT/2/8) (6) Death of Berry Sclater Operative part: (ii) pays £40 to (i) as specified in will of John Carrington, father of (i), together with £1.10s arrears of annuity (i) releases charge on property (a) Property: (a) Copyhold messuage or dwelling house in Potton held from the Manor of Potton Rectoria Witnesses: John Hine, John Pedley
