Hot and dusty journey, but children less tired than expected; likes look of place, but thick fog and few people; has not dipped young people yet; shall disregard Dr Watson's advice about Caroline and follow own reason. Parted with Charles on Saturday very heroically, no tears shed, seemed pleased with Mr Gilpin, 5 little boys of his own age.
