This is annotated in ink 'The Rifleman' [The Rifle Volunteer]. Further to the right is the Downs with various groups of people walking up the hill. In the front group there is a woman standing next to a wheelchair. No indication of publisher.

- Scope and ContentPostcard was sent to Madame Meave, Lamorlaye, Oise, France. The message was mostly written in French, dated 29/1/07 and roughly translates as "Dear Cousin, Mademosille B hasn't come to see me yet. Thanks for your letters I will write to you next week. It was very cold here first week and the wind blew a lot today." then in English - "This card does not count lets hope I have something to tell when I write. Bonjours to all the maids and love all around. From Polly." On the top of the card is written "You know where this was taken".
