Scope and Content
Insurance Policy No. 144524 from Sun Fire Office initially issued to Thomas Wortham, gentleman, of Royston, Hertfordshire on 14th January 1755, in relation to properties in the town.
Policy covers: several tenements adjoining each other in Royston: one house, lately occupied by Charles Briarby, saddler, but now empty; four tenements, one occupied by Joseph Horner, barber, one by Joseph Pruday, labourer and the other two empty; one barn; and one stable; all timbered, plastered and tiled.
Policy cost 9s annually due on 25 December each year.
