Played in a Hall tennis match. Went to the baths and passed the 60 yards swimming test. Describes second peripatetic lecture and the places visited. Canoed as far as Granchester and Bryon's Pool. Describes the cadets on the river as being quite dangerous as they have no idea of how to row or punt or canoe, but they are now going to have more stringent rules since a cadet drowned the previous week. Weather has been very hot; about 20 people fainted at Kings and had to be taken out [Church service at King's College chapel?] Writer slept on the roof; there was such a noise of guns and so many aeroplanes whizzing about they thought there must have been an air raid.
