    Letter with envelope: “Because I don’t know your name I write to the name of your lodging. Now I am in Germany by my family, they were very glad to see me so suddenly. I am also happy, it was a long time, two years in England, twice in my life P.O.W. but now it is finished”. “I beg your pardon, I must leave to suddenly the hospital in Skegness and could not say farewell to you. In the next days on 26th of October is my silver wedding, my wife is very glad that I at home to this day. I hope that you all quite well and hope that you will be so kind and give a answer to me with a picture from Skegness. I send you a view from Hamburg before the war, now it is mostly bombed and burned out, but my home is allright”. “I thank you for all kindness you have done to me and the other P.O.W. I will never forget this. When your little son David collect stamps, please write it to me than I will send him some. Now to-day I want to shut this letter”.
