Lindsell Esquires (Wells, Hogge & Lindsell Bank) recites that 1) lately carried on a partnership under the style of Powers & Sons a) as Millers at Biggleswade, Holme, Stanford & Langford Mills AND at Albion Mills near Kings Cross, Middlesex b) as Farmers at Campton & Stanford Farms recites dissolution of partnership with E.F.Powers 2 July 1884 recites debts of £24,000 to 2) recites Bill of Sale by Edmund Frederick Powers of his furniture AND Conveyance of part of his property as a Mortgage, both in favour of 1), dated 2 July 1884 recites that George Powers carries on a business of his own as a Cornfactor in Bishopsgate, London AND also has an interest in a company called Ham Farm Brick Co [Faversham, Kent] recites a dispute over whether Albion Mills is the separate property of George Powers or part of the assets of Powers & Sons recites legal Action of 2) v 1) & E.F.Powers to recover the money. Arrangement arrived at between 1) & 2) a) E.F.Powers furniture to be assigned to Arthur Cooper as Trustee, as if he had been bankrupt on 2 July 1884 b) 2) to take over all the debts & liabilities of the firm of Powers & Sons c) Powers & Sons to carry on at the Country Mills & Albion Mills but no payment to be made above £150 without the authority of Cooper & Co. d) C.T. & G.Powers allowed £5 per week each. e) George Powers allowed to run Cornfactor's business and Ham Farm but under the supervision of Cooper & Co. f) Powers not to mortgage the property g) Powers to sign a Promissory Note for the amount of the debt. h) No further administration of the Will of Edmund Powers to be undertaken except as a result of a legal action by a third party (Phillips Promissory Note for £8000 deleted) i) 1) & E.F.Powers to get legal opinion on the ownership of Albion Mills. j) Cooper & Co to complete accounts; 1) etc to show all books etc as required (NB. The deed was prepared by Stibbard & Gibson and much amended by Hooper & Co)
