    Witnesses Examined on behalf of the defendants page 1. John Lamley [as in RO14/61] Witnessed will of Rupert Billingsley page 11. Winifred Honour [as in RO14/61] lived in family of Rupert Billingsley many years during his life time and about 2 years after his death; he died in Pall Mall Court December 1720; his wife Mary died about 6 years ago and their daughter Bridget died 15 months ago; Witnessed will of Rupert page 21. Elizabeth Mitchell [as in RO14/61] Witnessed will of Rupert page 31. Mary Gardere [as in RO14/61 believes William Griffiths is now abroad in New England and John Dovey is now dead; after making her will Mary Billingsley asked deponent to bring her a drawer in which there was a former will and asked her to give her a lighted candle, then in the room lighted to melt the wax affixed to the will, and therewith set fire to former will page 42. John Dovey of Clements Inn, Middlesex, gentleman aged 31 says John Dovey Witness to will of Mary Billingsley was his father who died February 24 1735/6 page 46. William Underhill, grocer aged 37 living in Great Audley Street in parish of St George, Hanover Square, Middlesex is acquainted with the handwriting of William Griffiths, chandler, formerly living in Great Audley Street aforesaid, having had dealings with him and believes it to be his Signature to will of Mary Billingsley; compares it with receipt to this deponent from said Griffiths for £38..8..2; believes said William Griffith is now abroad at Boston, New England, having seen a letter written by him dated at Boston about 2 years before in which he said he was then at Boston and intended to settle there; has not heard from him since but believes that he is still abroad page 52.
