Mr Parsons (accountant) disagrees left out of list bakehouse, Shortmead Street, Biggleswade, rent £18 per annum 6 cottages, Blunham left at 2s per week land belonging let to them for £4 per annum lists rents received 29 Oct 1883 from Charles Powers and Company will forward estate books to Hill and Parsons “to be made up” asked amount of Hugh Edward Powers George and Walter Powers’ capital in business 6 Nov 1883 from Hill and Parsons, Temple Street, Birmingham re accounts 26 Nov 1883 from Charles Powers and Company will take properties including bakehouse, St Neots but not 2 houses at Biggleswade 26 Nov 1883 from same £90..2s..11d due to joint account of George Walter Powers and Hugh Edward Powers. 4 Dec 1883 from Elizabeth Daniel wants to stay till 29th, too ill to move hear property changed hands presumes would get same fishing privileges for rod fishing in Mill pit and streams adjoining 2 May – from Charles Powers and Company, St Andrews, Biggleswade to Hooper and Company re Tempsford Mill charged full rent, yet had no use from it since it was burned down 10 December 1883 3 May 1884 from Elizabeth Daniel no reply to letter of 2 May – very much an invalid – desires to change at seaside, want friends to come to Tempsford Lodge in her absence (husband London solicitor) 8 May – from Elizabeth H Daniel, Tempsford Lodge rent £25 per annum, owe from Michaelmas, not paid Hugh Edward Powers because never received proper receipt for previous payment, although repeatedly applied for it will pay when get proper receipt Messrs Powers sent message, need premises for business – wants her to leave, would have in September if suitable alternative accommodation, not found such 1 Dec [undated] from same £26..5s rent forwarded – requests receipt reckons has liberty to leave when she pleases as Messrs Powers says tenant “on sufferance” circulated through village 4 Dec undated from George Walter Powers met Medlock to pay rent said an arrangement between Charles Powers re fixtures, if new tenant refused them “we were to half cost” tenant 13 years George Walter Powers knows nothing about it did not receive rent 5 Dec 1884 from Mrs Elizabeth Daniels will give up Tempsford Lodge on Lady Day 17 Dec undated from Henry Clark, Market Hill, Royston Thomas Peck dead rent £7 per annum [Steeple Morden property] 28 Dec 1883 from Henry Clark Mrs Peck will continue to occupy as before 7 Jan 1883 (sic) [should be 1884] from Susan Peck, Steeple Morden, Cambridgeshire requesting to rent land 12 Jan 1884 from Elizabeth Daniel encloses £25 rent can’t find the house she wants can she stay a week or two past Lady Day? 23 Jan undated from same regarding tax (probably land tax) 28 Jan undated from Charles Stimsey [?Stimson] of Mill Street, Bedford have friend who would like to lease Tempsford Lodge 24 Jan 1884 from Elizabeth Daniel no reply regarding request for extension to time allowed to stay at Tempsford Lodge damp caused her to be very ill – sometime before she can visit London undated from R Warmsley wants agreement regarding house late in occupation of Mrs Medlock – so that can get alterations done “as they wil take some time to get dry” undated from Elizabeth Daniel severe and protracted illness daughter ill too can they stay on until able to see to our things she had had congestion of blood vessels of the brain 10 Mar undated from same sends rent; too unwell to go to London to inspect future house can’t get garden right – every flower picked out by Mr Powers’ fowls 23 Apr
