    Reciting will of Thomas Samuel, late of Leighton Buzzard victualler, deceased, dated 29 October 1866 whereby he appointed son-in-law, William Field, and friend, Edward Hall, as trustee and executor and devised all his property to them in trust for sale. He died 23 April 1869. Will proved (Northampton) on 30 July 1869 Said premises were put up for auction on 24 June 1869 at which iii) was purchaser of lots 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 for £216 Since the sale iii) has purchased a slip of land of width of 20 feet and intended for a new road (as shown on plan on deed) subject to various rights of way including those of lands now belonging to Theodore Harris and lately belonging to Edward Ashwell, deceased, and Thomas Swinstead, part of which lands are situate at West end of said road, for £20 now in Consideration of £216 and £20 (£236) paid by iii) to i) i) convey to iii) - piece of land in Gig Hill Furlong (2936 square yards) with frontage to new road of 215ft - slipe or piece of land in Gig Hill Furlong intended to be used as a new road and partly adjoining above piece of land first piece of land to be fenced on North East and South side and road to be maintained to middle as immediately adjoins said piece of land at said auction ii) was purchaser of largest lot in value and so deeds have been delivered to him now ii) covenants to deliver, if requested: lease and release of 14 and 15 April 1829 between George Arthur Franklin and wife Sarah, Henry Hankins Franklin and wife Sophia, Francis Franklin and wife Sabina and John York and wife Martha, with Henry Samuel, Charles Willis, Thomas Lane Wood and Jeremy Willis Fine of 9 George IV Succession Duty account of 11 November 1868 Signatures of i) and ii) Endorsed receipt Witness Frederick Willis, solicitor, Leighton Buzzard Joseph Kipling [?], solicitor, Leighton Buzzard
