    Reciting Mortgage 10 Nov 1862 by 1) Thomas Chessum, Luton, carrier 2) Robert Smith for £230, and that neither capital or interest has been repaid and so (i) put property up for sale by auction and (ii) was highest bidder for lot below conveyed, • All that messuage or tenement with the stable, barn yard and garden thereunto belonging at Caddington Woodside, Bedfordshire, bounded on one side by a piece of arable formerly woodland called Colliers Wood, and on the other by a garden formerly in the tenure or occupation of Frederick Pigott, afterwards George Wood, late Edwin Latham Brickwood, and abutting at the back on the close of pasture called Colliers Wick belonging to William Islip and fronting the road from Luton to Markyate Street, which said messuage and ground contain together 31 poles, and was once in the occupation of Thomas Chessum, afterwards Isaac Hoar • All those four several cottages or tenements with the barns thereto belonging sometime since erected and built by Thomas Chessum on part of the garden ground which cottages with appurtenances were formerly in the tenure of John Spacy, James Perry, Thomas Clark and Joseph Holland, afterwards of Thomas Puddephatt, James, Perry, Manuel Hawes and Jesse Holland, and are now of Thomas Mardle, D Holland and others
