    including letter from Wade Gery to Hooper and Company “I think it is important (and perhaps more important to Messrs Wells and Company than anyone else, because as I told you they really have no security on the Brook End property) that the property should be sold”; may probably get the money; reserves should not be placed too high; suggest £600 for lot 1 and £200 for lot 2 ... what you want is a sale 13 Jul 1896 letter from Hooper and Company to Wells and Company asking Wells and Company to fix reserves – wants to know how original loan was created “did the Executors want money to pay debts? “ Claimed executors no power to pledge deeds of the testator reports Wade Gery’s letter 14 Jul 1896 Note of alteration of £600 to £700 letter from George Jeeves, farm and seed grower of Manor Farm, Beeston part sold, part expected to be sold 5 Sep 1896 letter from A K Lindsell at Bedford to Hooper prepared to surrender deeds of property sold to (C) Wells for purchase price of £650; still have deeds of remaining property to cover £350 balance, this could sell for £200 but holding out for £240; £150 balance should be paid at once – doubt ability to so; “they appear very short of cash”; suggest £50 down and 2 bills at 3 and 6 months for remainder; Interest due on £1000 at 5% on 1 January, i.e. £37 which A Jeeves promised to pay £25, not to be relied on.
