    Archdale’s etc’s interest is as reversionaries, claiming that Mrs Gresham who has live interest on property above [HF41/1/1/38] has not maintained the property in accordance with Will of her husband from Alfred Peachey: Mrs Gresham “not bound to do more than keep the premises in tenantable repair”, are so tenanted, recently laid out £11 in repairs, unreasonable to expect more, “premises are very old and it would probably be much better to pull them down and rebuild”, tenant for life in 80th year can hardly be expected to do so 11 Oct 1882 from Walker, Son and Field: writ served personally to defendant (Mrs Gresham) at 57 Elgin Crescent, London, “she has to thank Mr Peachey (her solicitor) for the annoyance” 8 Nov 1882 from John Barber of Nottingham: aware executors have £50 in Bank “but they have liabilities of £20 at least and if I pay more than the £30 I shall have to go amongst the old lady’s old friends with the hat” acting as old friend of Mrs Gresham and her husband going to call at Biggleswade regarding it 24 Nov 1882 Barber again: can not get to Biggleswade, sends £50 to credit of Mrs Gresham with Messrs Hogge and Company; money less expenses to be put to repair of property at Shefford 27 Nov 1882 from Walker, Son and Field: hear Barber has settled, would like to get property directly transferred to Wells etc. What will Frederick Gresham get? 30 Nov 1882
