Thomas Armstrong this day purchased of Benedict Conquest lands mentioned below for £1,219..13 and Benedict has paid out of that sum:- £418 to Ann Cater £316 to Mary Peale £207..10 to George Maddy in full of principal and interest due on these several mortgages £23..17..7 to Mary Tuffnaile in full of interest due on the £1,000 the premises purchased by Armstrong are conveyed to him clear of all mortgages the remainder of the premises are conveyed to Mary Tuffnaile as security for the £1,000 for 2,000 years now; consideration: [as sums listed above paid to persons as above] also £254..5..5 to Benedict Conquest (together being £1,219..13 which is the consideration mentioned in Feoffment and a Bargain and Sale of the same date as these presents, parties given ...) release to Armstrong all premises of Benedict and Hannah Conquest in his possession by virtue of a Lease for a Year of previous day, to the following uses: -cottage late in occupation of William Young and now of Henry Seabrook -close of 3 acres adjoining the same -cottage with appurtenances late in occupation of Samuel Cook and now of John Dyer (all of which said Benedict purchased of John Carr) [see RO5/115-119] -Farrers Pightle 1½ acre in occupation of widow Bonner -Mill Pightle in Houghton Conquest 1 acre in occupation of Thomas Impey -close of pasture called Green Lane alias Green Land Close 4 acres in occupation of Thomas Impey -close of pasture called Hog Hill alias Plowed Close 20 acres in occupation of Thomas White -Six Acres Close 6 acres in occupation of said Benedict Conquest -piece of ground in Chappell End called Oulds Pightle (whereon a house formerly stood) 1 rood all which premises are in Houghton Conquest -30 acres arable and ley in the open fields of Houghton Conquest in several occupations of Thomas Fensham, Abraham Purser and Thomas Adams (being all the arable and ley which Benedict Conquest has in Houghton Conquest except the Parsonage Peece and Mill Bank) to sole use of Thomas Armstrong and his heirs remaining premises to Mary Tuffnaile for 2,000 years after determination of said term of John Birch and Francis Brace on trusts. repayment: £1,025 on 4 September next John Birch and Francis Brace to sell mortgaged lands as soon as possible and pay off Mary Tuffnaile and Charles Cutts; then in trust to raise £1,500 for portions of daughters of Benedict Witnesses: Rose Belgrave,, Rose Hartshorne, John Goodhall, Thomas Faldo, Tim Sutton clerk to Mr Brace, William Weale junior
