    Recites: Fine, Hilary Term 1652 -manor house of Houghton Conquest alias Conquest Bury -Innings 6 acres -Bury Leaze 60 acres -The Twenty Acres 20 acres -Fearney Hill 18 acres -Fearney Spinney 20 acres -Hogghill, Rolfes Feild, the Forty Acres 100 acres -the Barnacles Feild 35 acres by the name of:- -1 messuage, 1 orchard, 1 garden, 1 dovehouse, 3 barns, 245 acres pasture, 35 acres wood by which Richard Conquest and wife Elizabeth acknowledged the premises to be the right of Conquest Taylor, which he had of the gift of said Richard Conquest and Elizabeth and John Thimelby Conquest Conquest Taylor to be the tenant for suffering a common recovery Recites: Common Recovery [RO5/283] Recites: Indenture 13 December 1652 Deed to Lead the Uses of a Fine and Recovery (i) Richard Conquest and wife Elizabeth, John Thimelby Conquest, gentleman, son and heir apparent of above (ii) Christopher Lowe of Cliffords Inn, London gentleman, Conquest Taylor, gentleman (iii) said John Stone, then of Uphill, Hertfordshire esquire Recoverer to hold the premises to the following uses: manor house to Richard Conquest other premises to (iii) for 2,000 years and to Richard Conquest on determination of that term Recites: Mortgage by Demise 14 December 1652 i. said John Stone ii. said Richard Conquest reciting that i. is possessed of Innings etc. as above for 2,000 years conveyed to him as security for £3,000 + interest i. demises premises to ii. for 1,999 years at peppercorn rent repayment £90 on 14 June next in dining hall of Grays Inn; same on 14 December 1653, 14 June 1654 and 14 December 1654, 14 June 1655; £3,090 on 14 December 1655 Whereas: some of the sums were paid but not at the dates appointed and £1,000 was also paid, but by non-payment of all the sums the said lease became void and Stone entered said premises; Richard Conquest preferred bill in Chancery v. Stone; cause heard on 29 June 1661; decreed that Stone should recover said premises to Richard Conquest free of incumbrances. Report of Master in Chancery 26 April last - there was due to Stone for interest up to 24 June last £2,586..6..8 by Order of Court 13 October last Richard is to pay to Stone, on Allhallows Dat, the money due, deducting £200 which is to be brought into court to remain until a further order; by order of 24 October last Conquest is to have to Christmas Eve to pay; the £200 is not to be paid until the Master to whom the matter of damages concerning the taking of the cattle of Conquest by Stone had been referred had made his report; the money with interest due to Stone (minus said £200) to date of these presents is £2,463..17..8 now: consideration: £2,463..17..8 paid by iii) to i) at request of ii) i) assigns to iii) with consent of ii) -all premises in recited Indenture of Lease for residue of term of 2,000 years Signature: iii) Witnesses: Elias Aston, Charles Jones, W Hancock [see AD3166 recited deed of 13 October 1666 in which Corsellis is trustee for Maurice Thompson]
