- Scope and ContentSophie King said: Last Sunday week my little girl who is about 6 years old told me that Sophy Lamb had taken away a necklace out of the window and wrapped it up in her shawl. On Monday morning I went to Sophy Lamb’s mother and asked her to let me look into her box for the beads – she said yes if they were there I should have them – we went up stairs and her mother searched the box and found the necklace which she gave to me – I had missed the beads between 7 and 8 o’clock in the morning before my little girl told me who had taken them – I saw Sophy Lamb’s mother take them out of the box Joseph Juggins said: I am apprentice to Mr King – Last Sunday week I saw the necklace in the window between 7 and 8 o’clock in the morning – the window was shut – I went to take the donkey down to the town and when I came back again the beads were gone – I had shut the door after me when I went out and I was gone perhaps a quarter an hour – the door was open when I came back. Hannah Olney said: I live near Mr Kings – last Sunday week about half past seven o’clock in the morning I saw Sophy Lamb go up Mr King’s passage.
