    i) Right Honourable John Lord Ashburnham, Baron of Ashburnham in Sussex ii) Most Noble Henry Duke of Kent K.G., Right Honourable Lady Jemima Gray one of the daughters of said Henry iii) Right Honourable John Lord Glenorchy son and heir apparent of Right Honourable John Earl of Breadalbane, Right Honourable Edward Southwell esquire, secretary of state in Ireland, Francis Annesley of the Inner Temple, London esquire, Thomas Hutton of Somerset House in the Strand, Middlesex esquire Recites: RO1/28 whereas: marriage is intended between Right Honourable John Lord Ashburnham, Baron of Ashburnham in Sussex and Lady Jemima Gray now: consideration: £10,000 to be paid to i) by Duke of Kent in part of marriage portion of said Jemima; also additional portion secured by Duke of Kent by mortgage of part of his estate by Indenture of even date herewith (i) said Duke (ii) as i) above (iii) Edward Southwell Thomas Hutton i) grants Jemima -annuity of £2,000 payable after death of i) out of premises which were limited to use of i) by above recited Indenture also: annuity of £1,600 payable after death of i); persons who pay said annuity may retain for own use surplus of said annuity of £1,600 out of £2,000 also: i) releases to iii) premises charged with said annuity of £2,000 to hold for 500 years from death of i) upon trusts: to raise portions for issue of marriage: £15,000 if one daughter or younger son, £20,000 to be divided if more: maintenance until majority of one daughter or younger son, £300 per annum until age 12 and then £500 per annum until portion becomes payable: if 2 children £250 per annum each until age 12 and then £350 per annum until portions become payable; if 3 or more children then £200 per annum until age 12 and then £300 per annum until portions become payable; total yearly maintenance at no time to exceed interest on portions at 4% per annum [further details of trusts given here...] also: i) releases to iii) -premises in Sussex limited to i) by first recited Indenture chargeable with £400 per annum to be paid to such uses as Jemima alone shall direct Witnesses: Peniston Lamb, John Allen, Robert Harper 3 Feb 1723/4 Copy examined by R Pigott and Richard Whitborne
