    Recites: RO1/18-19 Will of William Lord Ashburnham, 11 June 1710 RO1/22-24, RO1/26 NOW: for barring entail and making satisfaction for personal estate of John late Lord Ashburnham which came into hands of William late Lord Ashburnham or John now Lord Ashburnham i) with consent of ii) releases to iv) -premises in Sussex and Bedfordshire as in RO1/9 [minor variations: Hammer = Hamer; Devenishwish = Devernishwish; in occupation of Edward Gower = in occupation of Peter Gower] -premises in Sussex and Bedfordshire as in RO1/14 [minor variations: Gregoe = Greengoe; Tillton =Tilton; Hucksteepes = Huckkstepps; Hasselden = Hasleden; Collyer = Collier] -manors of Fitz-Jeofferyes, Vauxes and Clapham in Bedfordshire with appurtenances and all farms, lands etc. belonging in Clapham, Oakely, Bolnhurst, Thurleigh, Keysoe and Bedford -premises as in release of 20 April 1711 recited in RO1/20 [meadow in Goldington is given here as in Press Mead] which were late in occupation of Thomas Gurney and are now in occupation of Richard Willis, gentleman -lands in Carmarthen, Glamorgan and Brecon [see catalogue entry for H/DE10 where full details are given] on trusts, viz. as to premises in Sussex and Bedfordshire to make iv) tenants to the precipe for suffering common recovery to uses hereinafter named writs to be prosecuted against iv) by iii), recoveries to be on trusts hereinafter declared as to Ampthill Great Park worth £650 per annum with mansion house; farm in occupation of Laurence Cripps at rent of £203 per annum; farm in occupation of Richard Impys at rent of £53 per annum; farm in occupation of John Circuit at rent of £39 per annum; close of meadow in occupation of William Peel at rent of £20 per annum; close of meadow in occupation of William White at rent of £20 per annum; close of meadow in occupation of i) late in occupation of Captain Roberts at rent of £10 per annum as to Brockborough alias Brogborough Park in occupation of John Knight and Robert Dell at rent of £450 per annum and Beckerings Park in occupation of John Denbigh and Adam Bevon at rent of £320 per annum to use of iv) in trust to sell and apply profits to discharge debt of £16,000 due from i) to William Sloper esquire secured by mortgage of lands in Wales and to pay William Glanville esquire £2,500 principal due to him on bond and to pay Right Honourable Charles Earl of Carlisle £2,200 principal money due to him from i) and to Milton Lambert esquire £500 principal due on bond from i) and to ii) £2,000 to Mr Dennis Brien £500, then to pay £3,500 as portion of Elizabeth Hayes one of the daughters of John late Lord Ashburnham, to be laid out in trust for the separate use of the said Elizabeth and £3,500 to the children of William Barnwell clerk, who were legatees of the will of late John and expenses of suits between i) and ii); surplus to be applied to discharge of portion of £20,000 charged by marriage articles of i) and to purchase of other lands to be settled as remaining manors and land. iv) to apply profits of lands to be sold until sale to pay interest and then principal of aforesaid mortgages all remaining lands (excepting those mentioned above to be sold) to use of i) for life and then in tail male; in default to use of ii) for life and then in tail male Witnesses: Dennis Brien, Hugh Watson, Francis Welles 23 Nov 1723 Receipt i) William Sloper ii) Edward Southwell, Richard Waring whereas: John now Lord Ashburnham has paid all interest to date due on £16,000 now: i) acknowledges receipt of £16,000 principal and has given another receipt bearing the same date as presents, which is assignment of security for the same premises in Wales Witnesses: Dennis Brien, Francis Welles 19 Mar 1724
