  • Admin/biog history
Originally Wesleyan. Chapel opened 1904. Still active in 2013. In 1903 it was felt that the original Kempston Wesleyan chapel in the High Street, although still well attended, had ceased to occupy a central position in Kempston. Another chapel was therefore built on land donated by Sir Frederick Howard on land a short distance from Kempston Grange. It opened in 1904 and later became Kempston East. Records were received from Kempston East in 2024 that covered the period before and after the opening of the new chapel in 1904. The earlier material has been catalogued under MB2/KEM1 as part of the original Kempston Wesleyan Methodist Church, the later material has been catalogued here under Kempston East. Circuits: Bedford St Mary's to 1942; Bedford South 1942-1971; Bedford South and Ampthill 1971-2011; North Bedfordshire from 2011.
