Parties:
(i) Thomas Henry, Baron Foley; Charles Romilly of Wilton Place, Belgrave Square [Middlesex]; George Russell of Chesham Place, Belgrave Square, esquire;
(ii) William, 8th Duke of Bedford;
(iii) Samuel Francis of Bedford and Houghton Conquest, brickmaker;
(iv) William Smail of Bedford, gentleman
Reciting:
(I) will of Francis, 7th Duke of Bedford, of 7th May 1861 devising all his real estate to (i) in trust for (ii) with power for (i) to sell
(II) death of Francis, 7th Duke of Bedford on 14th May 1861 and proof of his will and two codicils in PPR on 31st July 1861
(III) (i), with the consent of (ii), had agreed to sell (a) to (iii) for £220

- (iii) gave £220 to (ii);
- (ii), with consent of (i), conveyed (a) to (iii)

(a) piece of land in Bedford, Saint Paul on S side of Lurke Lane, bounded: N by Lurke Lane; W by a newly formed street called Cook Street; S by property sold to William Burr [R6/5/20/11/6]; E by property sold to John Usher Taylor [R6/5/20/11/8] – total area 5,523 square feet
Habendum:
- to (iii) to the uses appointed by (iii); to the use of (iv) during the life of (iii); in trust for (iii); to the use of (iii) for ever
Covenant
- by (iii) to erect fences at least 4 feet high on the S and E boundaries
