    Thomas Brace surrendered out of court 8 April last [1687] by the hands of Francis Squire and Richard Broad - cottage with appurtenances in Millbrook in which he now dwells with orchard or backside (postario) adjoining containing 1 acre : N. Nicholas Denton esquire - 2 acres arable, described in the original surrender remaining with the steward to use of Elizabeth Brace widow, for life and if she should fall into poverty through illness or any other cause then she may sell the 2 acres and after her death the rest of the premises to the right heirs of Thomas Brace who are to pay the poor of Millbrook £5 to be equally divided amongst them. said Elizabeth Brace is admitted Rent: 6s 3d Fine: 15s 9d
